Punjab was annexed by British East India Company in 1849 after Second Anglo-Sikh War through Treaty of Lahore. In 1849 Punjab became a province of British India. It includes modern Punjab province of Pakistan and Indian states of Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh and Delhi.
